Cage Diving

Cage diving is a form of marine tourism that enables potentially dangerous wildlife to be encountered up close. Here, tour participants enter the ocean in a protective steel cage in order to stay safe. This is common among many shark tour operators who target predatory shark species such as great whites or bull sharks.

To a lesser extent, certain aquariums use acrylic cages to provide a better view, e.g. to get close to crocodiles.
